Can you imagine the outcry if Liam had played the full 1st team and 3 or 4 picked up niggling injuries which meant they would have missed the Luton game, or even got sent off only to serve a 3 match ban, he was "damned if you and and damned if you don't", I think the criticism would have been far greater than it was after the game, also he did say in an interview that he intended to have a look at the fringe players, this he did so fans must have had an idea of the team before they went.

Also I understand the fan's points about the admission price but you should know it wasn't totally a club decision, admission prices have to be agreed between the clubs and the KCFA, I think going much lower than we did might not have got agreed, the rule actually states that we should have charged our normal admission price of £15, so to reduce by almost half might have proved difficult to ratify, I know for a fact if the fixture had been reversed the admission price would have been £10, I hope this helps a bit in way of an explanantion.

If it did nothing else it showed that the first team selection is generally spot on. All those clamouring for Forshaw to start would have seen why he isnt. He has the talenta and he seems to have positional sense but is far too lightweight and was eased off the ball every time it came close. One for the future for sure, but not yet.

The youngster, Sherlock looked about 10 years old but packed a tackle and Springett deserves a mention although his lack of experience was shown on occasion

I have to be honest and say I actually quite enjoyed it! Its about time some of the moaners on here got a life!

Boris is spot on. I saw the event as a great opportunity for squad players and youngsters to get some match experience. And that they did. Our former players all looked sharp and I was reminded just how good a player Jay was. Their young centre forward looked talented. Wasn't their experienced left back the reason that we remained in the Trophy the other year?
