Absolutely the right decision IMO, if it had been some bird not associated with any ofthe players then he could have survived, but as he decided to s**t on his own doorstep...........

Personal Life shouldn't intervien with a Career - Great Captin gone before a world cup with big oppertunaty for england. I believe Rio Ferdinand is due to take his place, not much of a better examlpe there as hes been naughty ON the pitch with incidents of Violent Conduct. Terry shuold have remained captain.

And missing drugs tests and punching people in night-clubs is setting a good example?

I'm not saying that Ferdinand or Gerrard should be skipper either, Gareth Barry would be a good choice.

The trouble with most Premiership footballers is that they earn far too much money and can't see when they're doing anything wrong because they are surrounded by yes men, so it is difficult to find role models nowadays. Hence the England Captaincy will become more and more difficult to fill, I must admit though that after realising that Ferdinand will now be Captain it seems a bit rich to sack Terry, Ferdinand has been in far more trouble.

    Totally unprofessional.....

    By Wayne Bridge.

I'm not playing with John Terry because he slept with my missis.

Boo hoo. Wayne Bridge has an issue with one person and one only,

    his missis.

The whole thing affects 4 people. the two couples.

no one else. Massive own goal sparked by the media prior to the world cup, yet again.

Absolutely the right decision. I don't think Capello had much of a choice either.

The notion that this decision has wrecked Englands chances of winning the world cup is complete nonsense. People have been searching for a reason why we won't win the world cup and now they have one. I feel happy for them.

I think it's unfair to have a go at Wayne Bridge as well. Don't you think he's been ridiculed enough? If he doesn't want to play with Terry again, then that's his decision and it should be respected.

Have to agree, replacing Terry with Ferdinand a no brainer but though i am not condoning Terrys' behaviour, once again our gutter press makes mischief without a care for the feelings of Mrs. Terry.
How many times has our so called self regulated press over stated a misdemeanour by a member of an England world cup team, including the manager, it's almost like they want to undermine our preperations.
I have for years never been a great believer in heavy censorship, but with the way our media, particularly the tabloids, are prepared to poke their snouts into everyones private lives for their own ends,or make up a story that will sell a few thousand more units then I feel the time has come to muzzle them.
''All power and no responsibility'' is a quote often thrown at them.
I suppose the fact that unfortunately the majority buy their toilet paper says more about them than the press themselves.

I wonder how long it will be before the identity of the whistleblower, Said to be a Friend ! of Ms Peroncell
(Bridges ex) comes out in the open, and then if they are French, German, Dutch or whatever it'll be labelled by the tabloids as a conspiracy to mess up England's World cup preparations......What a load of B*ll*cks.

Regardless of Terry's antics with his missus, he's been flogging his executive box for £4k a time and profiting from his illicit tours of Stamford Bridge.

An Aston Villa youth was suspended today for trying to flog League Cup Final tickets. A bit hypocritical if the England captain can get away with it but a naive kid making his way in the game can't.

Still, it'll give everyone something to blame a quarter-final World Cup exit on.

We won't get booted out of the quarter-final.

We'll make the semis, get Brazil, all the England players will sleep with all the wives of the Brazilian players and FIFA will boot us out.

I suppose it is a simple question of integrity, not Terrys he has already demonstrated that he doesn't have any, the question is does England as a country and particularly England as a football team.

We have seen plenty of examples in the past of football throwing integrity out of the window, most notably Manchester United over the Eric Cantona incident. when it came to choosing between the clubs good name and their best player they showed how little they cared about the clubs good name....I would like to think that England are a bit above the likes of Manchester United, sadly it would be no surprise to find out that they aren't.

Of course if Terry was an Italian or French (insert your own personal xenophobia here) player this would not be an issue but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be an issue for England, we are better than them aren't we?

I think the right decision has been made but I wonder if Thierry Henry was English would there have been a tabloid clamour for him not to be selected for the world cup following that handball, come to that will there be a campaign to ban Rooney and Gerrard the next time, and we won't have long to wait, that they get caught diving, no I don't think there will.

I think Simon Cowell should be England captain....after all, most people take more notice of him than anyone else, so what he says goes !!!

Daily Mail.......six pages on "Terrygate" & 4 pages on the Iraq War inquiry....says it all really !!

Shut the door on your way out please !

    Cheers,

Didn't Prince Charles do the same thing? Is he going to be sacked as a Prince and future King?

Apparently Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti says he can’t see what the problem is “every coach knows that when the right back leaves a hole it’s the centre backs job to fill it”

Oh Dear, I don't think I've ever laughed so much at 7 o clock in the morning, nice One huntdog, you should be on stage mate, there's more chance of the Fleet getting to the Premiership in 4 Seasons than you lot beating us at the World Cup

Aside from the blindingly obvious, they have already beaten us in the world cup together with the fact that they went to the acclimatisation tournament in South Africa and did a damn sight better than we would have, you seem to have the island mentality blinkers on Glenn.
Why is it that despite all of the evidence to the contrary and ignoring all previous experience before every world cup we always think that this time will be different?

The bookies know that there are plenty of mugs willing to waste their money on England but they can't afford to get the odds to far wrong, try getting more than 5:1 on USA win against England or 5,000:1 against the Fleet getting to the Premiership in four years to see if you are right.

I hate to STATE THE OBVIOUS but the World Cup Win against us was years ago, I'm obviously talking about the upcoming World Cup in which (in my opinion) the USA have no chance of beating us at THIS World Cup, yes I am patriotic and | appologise if that's now a crime Daves Nan, but putting on my footballing head the current England Team is head and shoulders above the Americans and I predict a 3-0 comfortable win. Also the 'us getting to the Premiership in 4 years' comment was blatantly tongue in cheek. Oh and by the way, I think England WILL win the 2010 World Cup. Cheers.
