Excellent. Fair play to the Premier League. I wonder if the FA will match this generous offer!

£14,706 spread evenly or is it more for Conf Prem... as it stands that wont help us a great deal...

I should imagine it will be about half what we'd expect to get from Setanta, as the rights to the package were worth £2m a year.

Just posted about this in TV deal thread......D'oh! That'll teach me to not refresh as often.....

Lol. What I'm trying to say is, I would hope that whoever is responsible for distributing the cash would do so proportionally in the way that Setanta was originally paying, so that every club stands to gain about half of the value that they would recieve had Setanta not folded.

I said in the other thread that I believe that the former league clubs will get more, £14k to each club would be nice, especially to some of those in worse positions than us but I can't see it happening unfortunately. Love to be proved wrong though

I just can't see the logic in them giving us the same as the likes of Redditch or Solihull Moors. No disrespect to them but how often would they be shown on the TV? They were never entitled to an equal slice of the money.

About as often as us if the schedulers had their way, not at all. It's just my opinion but the TV deal always favoured the former league clubs or the top 5 or 6 at the time. If you were lucky enough to have a fixture against them that you'd be willing to rearrange then you got televised, if not they'd go find someone else. I take your point about those sides though, so maybe a split of 70-15-15 or 60-20-20 in favour of BSP and all that gets divvied up equally between the teams in that league

I don't know exactly how the money was split, but I beleive there was an initial equal payment to all BSP clubs and further payments went to televised home and away sides. So you're right in that the ex-league sides (and in-form teams) would be shown more often and get more money. BSN and BSS sides had a similar (although much smaller, possibly 10% of the pot) initial payment and would only recieve more money if they featured on TV, which realistically mean't if they got into the playoffs.

Just a shame that ESPN ddin't want to show us, I would have been interested in subscribing again if there was guaranteed coverage including a decent highlights show. Still, what do you expect from a Mickey Mouse company?

Oh dear!

Conference Premier Division Clubs will receive £30,000 each and Conference North & South Clubs will receive £6,000 each

Sorry just couldn't resist that one!
On the plus side ClubSecretary's post about the split is pretty much what I was suggesting and is a good start to plugging the gap left by Setanta's demise

Wow! Thanks, Peter. That's a bigger cut than I would have expected. SweetConference Premier Division Clubs will receive £30,000 each and Conference North & South Clubs will receive £6,000 each

30k can't complain about that, at least it's better than nothing....

£30,000 Must help a bit, better than nothing which is what we thought we would get.

I believe that the donation from the premier league was to help all conference teams during difficult financial circumstances. Obviously these circumstances were made worse by the collapse of setanta but the donation or its split was never linked directly to the tv deal therefore the split would not mirror that of setantas'. One more point we,It would appear have just been given £30k and all we can say ion here is 'its better than nothing' How ungrateful is that! It is 30,000 pounds better than nothing.
Thank You Premier League from at least one (I am sure there are more) Grateful Ebbsfleet United fan!!!!!!!

Am sure that everyone is grateful for the money - £30k is a huge sum of cash for a club at this level...
We also know that if the average donation was £50k from the Prem League clubs, this is a miniscule amount to them.
This is the league that if you fail miserably and finish bottom, that club still gets prize money worth £30 MILLION...
And to make sure that life isn't such a struggle, the newly relegated teams get 2 years of parachute payments worth over £20 MILLION.Same game, different world!

These clubs that recieve all of this money have far larger outgoings (a completely different argument/discussion). Are you thinking then that £50,000 per club is not enough and that they should have donated more???
We are higher in the pyramid and a lot better off (hard to believe I know)than say Farslet Celtic, Should we make a donation to Farsley????? I think not!
I am still grateful and would have been if the amount was £300!! it all helps

Be grateful for every £1 we get. It will help towards Liam's budget.
Posted 10 months ago # -
Perhaps the Premier League can be persuaded to sponser the Conference on an annual basis.
Posted 10 months ago # -
If every player in the premiership donated a weeks wages ,it would probably fund the BSP for a couple of years

You boys are missing the point here, York have just received £30,000...........who shall we sell them?
