Notice up on MyFC that five players have been signed -

    Ricky Shakes
    Jordan Collins (left back),
    James Lindie (centre forward),
    Ishmael Welsh (left wing)
Jamie Forshaw (right midfield / forward)

Glad to see the squad filling out - disappointed that the MyFC membership were not allowed vote on ratifying the contracts.

So have we or haven't we signed these players, and if not why are MyFC making such a statement? If it's untrue it makes you wonder what else coming out of there is.....

That is the nature of the beast me ol' mate ! I am informed by a friend who is a member/owner/whatever that a vote was cast to "ok" an advert that was to go in The Reporter..... and also one to agree a title for a column in the match programme ! No doubt one of the reps on here will either confirm or deny if necessary ?

The big stories...as they arise ! Why let someone make a simple decision when you can ask a cast of thousands ?? It's all b*llocks !! Still.....it gives some people a bit of an ego trip ! Bless.

    Cheers,

Now to be fair, these comments only come from one or two MyFC.

Also, before any starts, I don't think that it is really fair to start lambasting the whole of MyFC for this. The comments come from one or two people but the rest are about what great signings they are.

Now, can someone ring the five-a-side league? We're entering two teams!

Don't really want to get into another 'discussion' about this one - Any vote that would take place would be on the ratification of player contracts. As owners of EUFC, MyFC has a responsibility to the club to ensure that the budget is adhered to and that all financial matters are subjected to the agreement of the owners.

It may be a case that the MYFC Web Team jumped the gun on this one - I posted the information on the basis that I felt the club's supporters would be interested in it.

MyFC has a responsibility to the club to ensure that the budget is adhered to...

Hence the vote to give Liam his budget.

As long as any signings that Liam makes do not go over that budget then what is the problem?

The only thing I will say is that I wasn't in the office today as I had a meeting elsewhere so it is possible that some information on players on contract was given out.
And before anyone wonders about the meeting I was at, I am a Trustee on the Pension Fund of the company I used to work for and I had some business to attend to in Aylesford.

Fair point HJA, but it would be fair also to point out that 1 or 2 of these individuals are possibly influential, it just seems so bloody illogical.
After all the upheaval the club has been through on the playing side of things recently, you would have thought that there would be some relief that we are finally adding to the squad, forget the bloody politics.

    Exactly right, my friend.

But this is the climate the club is in at the moment and is all the better for it.

Liam has already come back to the membership of MyFC looking for money to sign Shakes and Pooley. Again - no vote - just please can we have the money. EUFC's financial future (at least in the short to medium term) is tied to how many members MyFC has - allowing MyFc members to actually make a decision on who the club signs could help.

Have I missed something, have we not signed Pooley then, or has he just been missed off the list ?

Signing players cannot always be put to the vote, as this could let other managers slip in and snatch a player you are interested in. Plus you would allow 2 days for a vote, and that gives your rivals a heads up.

disappointed that the MyFC membership were not allowed vote on ratifying the contracts.

Most on here couldn't really give a stuff about your disappointment. We have signed five players. Nice one.

Allstars is correct in saying that there are one or two people moaning about this but that is it.

You'll have to forgive me if I'm wrong but apart from Gash and Charles did MyFC vote to give contracts to players like Pooley, Shakes, Stone, Hand, West, Springett, Ibe, Duncan, Judge and Delicate last season?
