after listening to him on the non league radio show he made me feel worried for the first time in a long time. he said things like this club will probly be a ryman club soon, when daish goes we will be part time etc., and other worrying things about the club. its obvious this club needs to be more stable for the future of the club and other areas, but what worries me is that i cant see how we can make this club stable, especially while myfc are still on board. i felt annoyed when he said we have enjoyed 8 years in the conference etc, and we will be ryman again, how can we be in the conference for 8 years and not be a top flight non league club? there must be some answerers somewhere, lets hope they come out Thursday night!

just remember that there have been league clubs that have come into the conference in the time we have been here, and had to drop to lower leagues. We will survive one way or the other, what we need is to all want the club to survive, and to save this club, myfc and fleet fans must be aiming for the same goal.

As Liam would say "Believe". It's all about pulling together and realising that we all have a bit to play. Hopefully the meeting tomorrow will be positive. It's no good looking back moaning about what has happened - we are where we are and we need to move forward.

I think Matt D was being realistic more than negative,.
He lives in Gravesend and supports Ebbsfleet, which will be apparent tommorrow.Posted 5 months ago # -
Matt seems like a decent enough bloke Gaz, but surely he should be getting behind the club 'on air' and encouraging people to come to games, rather than putting any potential supporter off by saying the club are on a slippery slope and the future is bleak, be honest but also be positive.I think Matt D was being realistic more than negative,.

His job is to report the position honestly, he has no brief to advertise for the club.
Matt has been a good friend to the Fleet over the years, without him we wouldn't have had the live match commentries that we all enjoy.

As 'owners' we/myfc must put cash into the club to keep it going.
If previous owners have put in up to £500k per season to keep it going then 1,2,4 or 10 thousand people should be able to match at least the same surely!! You cant or want to own a football club and then not put the cash in!!
Time will tell on Friday or more likely Saturday morning when the renewals are in and we see where we are!!!

The previous owners did not put £500K per season into the club - the total amount of the soft loans put in by previous owners amounted to £565K over a period of years.
When MyFC took over the club it was losing £30K-£35K per month and the previous owners were unable or unwilling to fund the ongoing losses.
MyFc have funded the payment of £525K (as repayment of soft loans) to the previous owners.
MyFC has also funded a payment of £40K to Fleet Development for consultancy work on the (proposed) new ground.
MyFC has also funded payments of £80K+ to Fleet Leisure so far
MyFC has also funded the payment of £125K+ for unpaid debts following the takeover
So far MyFC has contributed in excess of £1million to the club.MyFC did one a really stupid thing - during 2008-2008 it increase the monthly losses to £60K from £35K. This basically wiped out the cash reserves MyFC had - and the FAT money and tranfer income. the situation was reversed in the budget for this season.
This season MyFC has had to use money paid for future years to cover this seasons losses. This has happened because there has been a signigicant reduction (collapse) in income from sponsorship, advertising, gate receipts etc. EUFC is not the only club in this financial situation - indeed it is in a better position than many - it has few debts, is up to date with wages and HMRC - but is in serious cashflow difficulties.
In effect to fund the club for the remainder of this season and to fund the club for next season (assuming the same playing budget and the maintenance of other income and expenditure at current levels) will require something in excess of £500K. MyFC has about £15K pending the renewal of 4,500 members this weekend.
So while MyFC are the owners - MyFC has basically spent money that should have been set aside for next year and subsequent years to fund this years deficit. 2,500 renewals will get the club to the end of the season - a further 4,000 memebrships to the begining of next season - every membership after that will build the playing budget from zero up.
The scale of the losses can be demonstrated by the fact that if every member of staff at EUFC lost their jobs - the club would still be losing money.
A pretty big task - and Matt Davidsons assessment is realistic - I suspect what will happen will have to be seriously assessed over the coming weeks.

Repeat until interesting.....

So whats not interesting about it - is it true or not (serious question)?
Posted 5 months ago # -
The fact it's been done to death and it now means very little.

That really does just about sum you up Allstars.
Of course its of interest, its why the club is in such a bloody mess.

The fact it's been done to death and it now means very little.
It's not meant to 'mean anything' its a statement of facts which I asked if it was true or not!!
You may know the full story but not everybody does. Your comment "Repeat until interesting" at the very least is not helpful.Posted 5 months ago # -
There is another underlying problem that I need claryfication on.
1) Club is living hand to mouth. Things are that tight
2) A large number of people pay for MYFC via Paypal
3) Paypal wont release funds for 90 days after transaction. If the above are true , then renewals day is of no use , as the club could well be non existant or ready for lower league football by the time money is released. And of course , it is the released to MYFC and not EUFC and has to go through the mechanism within that society.
Direct to the club. Its the only way forward.

Not sure but I believe we get 90% up front and 10% delayed

Im just trying to figure it out Milesy. There was an item on MYFC about it but buggered if I can find it.

Of course its of interest, its why the club is in such a bloody mess. What's happened has happened, repeating ad nauseum isn't going to help anyone. Want to know what happened? Read last weeks thread on the same subject or, alternatively, wait for next weeks, again on the same subject.

I'm having the same problem Brian trying to find a definitive statement. I queried the pledge money for the mailshot on the same basis as you are questioning other pay pal money and got the 90% answer.

I had only asked whether it was true or not. A very helpful moderator - I'm just giving my opinion.

I am sure that when I asked this at the AGM I was told it has to sit for 90days. Could have a profound effect where we focus our revenue streams
Posted 5 months ago # -
Found it in meeting minutes from AGM. So it is 10% for 90 days pkus whatever paypal commissions are charged. Not as bad , but still not the best way to give to the club.
yorkfox wrote:2). Why is there a figure of £8,702 in the Paypal account when it could be in the bank deposit account earming interest ?
The Paypal account we have requires us to keep 10% of all funds received in the account for a period (of I think is 90 days) so there is always going to be a balance in the Paypal account. The operator transfers what money he can on a weekly basis into the tracker account.[b]
