MYFC have launched an on-line auction room to raise funds for the playing budget. I have donated the following item - if any non-myfc member wants to place a bid let me know and I will add it to the auction thread.

A piece of Fleet History. Signed football from the Gravesend & Northfleet FC promotion winning side of 1988-89.
(20 years old and signatures now slightly faded but still readable).

Signed by: Dennis Moore, Mark Penfold, Paul Currie, Colin Dalton, Dave Boyton, Steve Luckett,
Gary Julians, Keith Hepple, Gary Groom, Mick Crowe, Bobby Glozier, Ray Tumbridge,
John Palmer, Tony Dudley, Tony Booth, Colin Blewden, Roland Graham.

    CURRENT BID - £30 (08/06/09)

You will note it has the signature of Ray Tumbridge who recently passed away. Great memories - Thanks Ray.

How do you donate Items? Is it Fleet orientated only?

The Auction thread is coordinated by one myfc member (Upduck). Members add items they would like to auction to the auction forum thread and suitable lots are added to the 'store room'. Upduck then selects an item for auction and it is placed on the auction thread and bidding begins. Although mostly football related items at the moment there are some other items of general interest. So far the auction has raised £175 for the playing budget.

Current Bid for Signed GNFC football - £35 (09/08/2009)

But if this is only available to MYFC members surely the club will not collect the full potential.

I'll investigate how we can make it available to all.

The auction of the ball raised £50 for the playing fund and the winning bid was received by Very Tenables who has paid his donation to the fund. However VT has informed me he would rather I either kept the ball or donated it to the club. My preference is that the ball is offered to the family of Ray Tumbridge, who passed away recently, as his signature is on the ball.

A very big thank you to VT for his gesture.

If you are a real person ( rather than an invader...... can anyone vouch for Jamie ?), then you will still moan that you only know five of the squad !! However........you may have hit upon something......I think there would be great demand for a squad photo signed by HG, AndrewC, Redolent, Ade, Big Jon, Phil C, Tommo, Dave JB, Yorkshire Dunx, No Teeth, Irv...and me !......the list is endless..........ah....that'll be Springfleetway Unitedprinters then !! We are still popular in the area......especially in drinking circles !

    Cheers,

Well done to VT - it was mentioned ages ago, and on another forum, that the club bar could do with a revamp - including some Fleet memoriabliia (sp) - this would make a great addition!

I am the sister of Ray Tumbridge. I was very proud of his football career, league & non league. I followed nearly all of his games with our dad, home & away. I would like to thank everyone on behalf of all his family for your kind words at this difficult time.

Why not auction items that the club can provide at little or no cost aswell. Things such as a training session with the players or sponsorship of a game.

Auctions? This is one of the fundraising initiatives on MyFc at the moment:
(Never mind the end-date, it's still running!)

Buy Fleet book to boost budget

    Postby mugpunter59 » Tue Jun 16, 2009 2:06 pm
Hello, my name's Paul Harrison and I wrote 'Gravesend and Northfleet FC', a book published in 2006 (just before the Fleet became Ebbsfleet Utd) to celebrate 60 years of the club.

We all know that next season is going to be tough, so I'd like to do my bit.

There are 50 copies of my book left and I'd like to sell them to the highest bidders with all proceeds (minus postage) going towards Liam Daish's playing budget next year. As an added incentive, each copy will be signed by Liam.

RRP is £12.99, so this will be a staring price but I'm hoping that members will be able to dig deep to raise as much as possible.

Having spoken to the web team, members can place their bids on this thread and the list of highest bidders will be updated by them regularly. The auction will close on 30th June at midnight, when winning bidders can pay their price through Friends of the Fleet donations. I will be told when payments have taken place and send out my books out accordingly.

    Happy bidding!

So, If you are interested in the history of the club and want to help with it's future: Make a bid!

    Quality idea...

Any news on getting the auction opened up to all?
