Vote is up on MyFC this morning confirming that Liam is up for the 2009/ 2010 challenge, and members will vote until Monday on whether to renew his contract. Some good news at last! Well - along with the excellent ST sales, Fleet Trust donation, and improving success of the various private donation options... things are looking up

An MyFC Board Statement on the MyFC forum reads:

"At Thursday night's (28 May) football club meeting at Stonebridge Road, Liam Daish told the MyFootballClub members' Board and the EUFC Board that he would like to be given the opportunity to continue his role as EUFC manager next season.

With the agreement of members, Liam will begin to build the club's coaching and playing staff, within the budget set by members......"

Great news that Liam is still on board-

At bloody last, some good news.

LD is going to need all the help and support he can get, lets hope the 'owners' don't let him down.

That has surprised me. I was expecting Liam Daish to walk from the fiasco the club seems to be in. Extremely pleased he's willing to commit to Ebbsfleet United; the fans have been given some hope and good news.

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” —Albert Schweitzer

Big thanks to Liam for being up to the challenge! Time now to pick ourselves up by the bootstraps and start to build ourselves and the club up perhaps? We've got a playing budget to grow, staff to bring in, a ground to repair, and lots of working relationships to build! With Liam, a core of five players, loyal fans, and the generosity and dedication of all the donating fans and members we have a foundation we can move on from.

I think we can afford to feel just a little bullish today

Interesting that the statement refers to building the coaching staff as well as the team.

I wonder if we should think about appointing a player/assistant manager for next season. Harsh on AK but these are tough times.

Paul McCarthy would be a good choice if we go this route but I suspect there could be a lot of candidates from outside the club.

Yippee. Lets all get behind LD and back him to the hilt. He could have easily walked away.

I have a smile on my face today with regards to the Fleet

This is excellent news - just the sort of high note needed after recent events. Onwards and upwards. Good luck Liam and many thanks!

Liam is the manager of the football club. It is up to him who he wants to work with.

Am well pleased about this news.

i believe Liam deserves our respect and gratitude for this decision,no one would have blamed him if he had walked,as he had said he was ''gutted'' on hearing the financial situation, and I'm sure he must feel the same as we all do that there were some serious mismanagement of the finances last season, let's hope that communication between all parties is now more open, I have been waiting for clarification of Liams' future and still need to be convinced that there are big improvements as to the way the club is being run financially, as I would like to make a monthly donation to the players budget.
This is the fillip we desperately needed.

Was anyone here at the meeting?
It would be nice to hear about any other business that was discussed, once again the official site is silent.
