I spoke to Jordan after the game about the morons with their abuse and he said they are idiots and it is like water off a ducks back (good lad), he genuinely likes it here, I think he is more than a decent player, but I agree this cannot go on, I am personally asking a decent fans to point out to stewards when this is going on, it has been mentioned to the stewards that is a cause of concern.

Jordan played well today. I would point out that he received a good round of applause when he was subbed late on.

we all know who they are. all you have to do really is go into the ploughend for a minute during the game and you will know. they are idiots, and i think everyone will agree. some of the abuse today was appauling. i feel for collins as he is a good player, still only young. they need to give him time, its only pre-season. i believe he'll be at his best by the cambridge game
Posted 12 months ago # -
and, some of the people in the ploughend were applauding liam for taking him off. not applauding him as a player.
Posted 12 months ago # -
and, some of the rest of us were applauding him as he'd played well
Posted 12 months ago # -
as was I, and a lot of others. its just that bunch in the ploughend of about 4-5 usually
Posted 12 months ago # -
I was pretty critical of him the first time I saw him, but now having seen him play a few times I have changed my views, I can only really think of one bad thing of him today and that was in front of the tea hut when Darius and another player had to cover for him on the touch line and he was about fifteen yards further infield. But as we all know he is young and human. I think the problem is he has big boots to fill in Sasha and some people will always compare him to Sasha.
Posted 12 months ago # -
That is the big problem sash is a fleet legend and always will be, but sash would go mental and hack people down but jordan is a good defender who reads the game very well. I thdink he could cover a centre back if required.

Jordan is one of the best left footers we have seen in a long while. If he doesnt get approached by a league team next season then I will give 50quid to next years playing budget,
Posted 12 months ago # -
he's left foot is amazing if im honest. great crosser of the ball. good at set pieces. a player we need IMO
Posted 12 months ago # -
i agree an amazing player
Posted 12 months ago # -
i sit in the plough end i think he is quality
Posted 12 months ago # -
if jordan was to read this, would do his confidence the world of good!
Posted 12 months ago # -
and ''fleet 4 life'' have you heard some of the abuse? t'is appauling!
Posted 12 months ago # -
I heard the abuse today and thursday. Pathetic. The group of idiots behind the goal even shouted 'What aload of rubish' when Colins came off, I found it not only unsupportive but plain rude. Of course this group can have their opinions and if think he is shit (which i think played he is NOT), the opinion shouldn't be voiced in the manor it was. Liam Daish signed him because of his abilities and wouldn't make the mistake of spending our valuble budget on bad players. I heard a group of young lads today getting absolutly wound up by the constant, childish abuse and I could see many more and seemed to have moved by the second half.
The people behind the goal - NOT ALL !- ARE ABSOLUTLY APPAULING!Posted 12 months ago # -
Ye that was me and my mates getting so annoyed about it, everytime he done something right, there was no praise, and he got shouted at for petty stuff, that if darius done it, which i believe he did a few times, nothing was said, so i decided to move, because it was getting on my nerves, so god knows how collins must feel.
Posted 12 months ago # -
I really dont blame you Josh - something has to be done about the indivisuals. You should not have to move somewhere else. It seems the comments are making the Plough end a little unpleasant.
Posted 12 months ago # -
I sat there all of last season, and i thought the critism of gash was bad, but this.
Posted 12 months ago # -
Unless they want now want a new player to shout abuse at now gash has gone. I have to say the group i think we are talking about CAN BE a great laugh and a good joke but do go way over the top when it comes to a player making an error and are really harsh about it. Again they are intitaled to their opinion but it shouldn't be voiced in the way it was.
Posted 12 months ago # -
Agreed, the problem is, if your going to moan at a player for a mistake, then be consistent, yes some people like a moan, but if you are, don't just aim it at one individual, because i can assure everyone, almost everyone in the back four made mistakes. And when dean pooley gave the ball away for the goal, they shouted at collins, what is that all about ?
Posted 12 months ago # -
Personally I would never shout abuse at a player, it doesn't do their confidence any good and can also offend other spectators, especially with some of the language used.
On the other hand, and please note I am not approving the behavior of those who do in any way (in fact, I have told those involved I disagree with their manorisms) but they also have the right to their opinions, as stated, and how they express them.
In football, this is always going to be the case. Players, home or away, are always going to be victimised and get stick from fans and they have to get on with their job, as has been done in this case. Many players have done down the Fleet in the past - although, agreed, perhaps not to such an extreme. From what I have gathered from years of reading Fleet messageboards it's not exactly foreign down in front of the tea bar or other such areas for Fleet players to get certain amounts of stick or not-so-contructive critisism either.
What I am trying to conclude to is that some of you may think it is wrong or unfair, but at the end of the day what the players hear are the views of 3 or 4 fans, and as indicated by Peter in the first post, the player realises this. A professional will ignore any abuse and get on with his game.

Agree with you alittle, its going to happen in football. Jordan said its water of a ducks back, so hes taking the stick profesionally which is good although the way opionions were being expressed yesterday were irritating other nearby spectators like josh and his mates and therefore must stop. I think it is important for everyone to enjoy the game in a pleasant enviroment and make the plough end alittle more welcoming for fans.

the idiots in the plough end get worse in the 2nd half as the beer they had at half time kicks in and they feel a little bit more brave.it seems they dont go to the game to watch the match, they are just there to abuse players.
Posted 12 months ago # -
i have to say on the last two games i think he has played very well even though i did critisize him on the first 4 games i think he has improved
Posted 12 months ago # -
Simple fact is get rid of these morons and then we may get more supporters through the turnstiles. A simple message to these idiots GET BEHIND JORDAN AND THE OTHER LADS AND SUPPORT YOUR TEAM SO PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted 12 months ago # -
I was on halfway line and did'nt hear any abuse, but i will say i think apart from his 1st game he has done really well and is getting better every game. Pooley is our week link by far!
Posted 12 months ago # -
When Jordan Collins was substituted, I believe there was sustained applause from the halfway line, which I took to be appreciative of his performance & genuine applause mixed with ironic clapping & childish insults from the Plough End. This moronic behaviour infuriated me & I was half a ground's length away from it.
I don't think people should have their afternoon out ruined by people victimising one player; I used to get really wound up by one little kid who would sit in front of me with his granddad. Despite the old boy's attempts to get him to be more positive, the little brat spent the whole game moaning & seemed to have a particular hatred of Luke Moore. I used to make my poor old father in law, who finds steps without railings very difficult, climb further back, just to avoid listening to this drivel. Now that was just one little kid, but he was capable of ruining my afternoon; I feel for the people who have to put up with half a dozen extremely loud "adults" delivering negativity aggressively & in a foul mouthed way.
As true supporters, we owe it to the team to challenge the weak minded who like to identify a victim & bully him. It may not be possible or sensible for individual supporters to challenge them directly when they are in their group, but as Peter says, we can point out to stewards that they are ruining people's afternoons & that they are (inevitably) using foul language. We can also go out of our way to be loudly supportive of their latest object of ridicule, which should not be hard when, as in Jordan's case, they do a lot of things worthy of praise. I think he will turn out to be a damn fine left back.

Have to echo that sentiment Mike.
Pooley scares the hell out of me at times.I thought Collins had a mare against Orient but the improvement has been there to see in the last two home matches.
Posted 12 months ago # -
il give everybody a clue. Said individuals have been in the crowd 4 a couple of seasons. Theyv prob been banned from higher league stadiums and expect more. Id ban them in an instant 4 their horrible behaviour and swearing etc etc... We dnt nd the impact of 'fans' like them. All imo may i add.
Posted 12 months ago # -
The club and Fleet Trust are working very hard to get people and families to Stonebridge Road, but to be honest, some of the behaviour that goes on from a very small amount of supporters is unacceptable and will quickly turn families away, hence costing desperately needed funds for the club. And to boo a new player when he gets subbed, I won't even waste my keyboard with a comment.
