John Akinde has gone out on loan to Wycombe Wanderers.

All the best to him for his loan spell there. Hopefully he can score the goals, help Wycombe Wanderers to gain promotion to League One, and prove he's worthy of a start at Bristol City next season. This will help Big John out, he needs first team football, and Lee Trundle returning from his loan spell is limiting John Akinde's chances at Bristol City even further. The extra money looks unlikely now based on his number of appearances for Bristol City, but he can be called back to Bristol based on 24-hr notice.

    All the best to him.

Anyone would think that there is a thread for the whereabouts of ex players.

In my opinion the career of John Akinde goes beyond the Pat Gradley thread.

Why? He is an ex player the same as Pat Gradley?

quite a cynical yet legal move by City, seeing as how Akinde had almost completed the 10 appearances for them which would trigger a further payout to us, still credit crunch etc.etc.

I'm really not sure that it "cynical". John needs experience and games. The move to WW is for his benefit. We can all remember how he benefited from a loan period playing in the Kent League.

Indeed is it really that cynical? They could just have not played him for the rest of the season rather than gone to the trouble of loaning him out if it was just the cash they were worried about.

Given that when he joined Bristol City the manager clearly stated he thought John would need a season of playing in the Reserves, John has actually done well to earn himself 8 appearances this season. The loan spell can only help him develop, particularly as its at a strong League 2 Club - incidentally, it will mean he plays alongside ohn Paul Pitman, who scoredagainst us in the 4-4 draw with Crawley.
