Wonder if big John would be interested in a loan move back - esp after Brizzle decide to keep Stern John till the end of the season...

If he misses his family, he may well head back for 3 months.

Liam would have him on the bench, ready to replace Moore or Gash on 87 minutes.

well gash never comes off because liam dont wanna admit what a waste of money he was!!! i think that if big john came back atleast gash would perform better like at the start of the season because he dont have to do as much running!!!
we have shown many times this season how much we miss john and we should deffinetly try and sign him on loan at least or get an equivelent replacement........
.......instead of wasting another 20 grand!!!

.......instead of wasting another 20 grand!!!He's 21 - he's scored 8 goals so far this season. Hardly a "waste of money" as I haven't seen anyone else this season scoring eight.

moore has scored 9 and gash has only scored 7 by the way !!!! ibe is close as well by scoring 6 !!! play him more often

Gash def on eight goals - and would love to see Ibe, Moore and Long outscoring Gash by a hatfull at the end of the season...

Come on are we not being at least a little unfair on Gash. He has scored more this season than Nade and nearly as much as Chukki last season.

£20,000 / 8 Goals = £2,500 per goal
Now that is a lot of money, and I consider it a waste at this level of football!
With Gash the criticism isn't even 100% to the amount of goals, that he has or hasn't scored, but most of the criticism is about his lack of effort! He gives up far to easily! And he just seems to have a negative attitude whilst on the pitch!!

i just think that liam should get akinde on loan for the rest of the season otherwise we will be know where near getting into the play offs.

i dont think anyone is still realistically looking at playoff places!
.... many people would be grateful if we get a midtable(ish) finish!
..... and others will be happy if we just stay up.
so lets leave the dream of promotion til next season!

Isn't it possible Gash has just grown weary of Route 1 football? It's hardly the kind of tactic where he's going to shine now, is it? Watching the replays, in games when we kept the ball on the deck, Gash seemed anything but uninterested to me. Give him a little support from a midfield that's involved and you'll see Gash wasn't a waste of money. The waste of money was buying him and then sticking him into a wasteland and expecting him to turn it into a paradise.

Yes I agree - maybe it's the style of football we're playing that is making Gash look like a misfit; we're hardly playing a good game at the moment and giving him the service a striker should have. 8 goals at this stage in the season still could be 16 goals by the season's end.

Akinde coming back is a non starter. I just don't think we can afford the wages and I doubt Bristol would agree to pay a large percentage of it.

Ya never know, they have to pay his wages anyway - and this way he gets the benfit of playing very competitive games in a side he knows well and will def stick a few goals in. Nothing a striker wants more than regular goalscoring action

But whom from the undroppables would he replace?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Er, well.... Lance hasn't scored for a long while has he.....

Highly unlikely that we could get him back on loan - he's playing regularly for the reserves and was last on the subs bench for the 1st team on 20 December (although he didnt get on) - that suggests that an injury to such as Stern John or Lee Trundle would see him needed in the squad for a while.
