I'm sorry, but I don't understand the logic of what some people have posted here.
Like it or loathe it, we are in this together. If MyFC folds so does this club at this level. The people who reckon their season ticket/trust membership goes further are deluding themselves. MyFC owns the club. We need an owner & better a few thousand global nutcases than the sort of egomaniac pillocks who are currently ruining Grays & the Vics. If you can only afford one thing, you have to join them or the Club, as we know it, ceases to exist.
As it goes, I am a season ticket holder & also pay considerably more than the annual cost of that into the Fleet Trust each year. I do it because it seems a small price to pay for something which has given me a lot of enjoyment for decades. This doesn't make me a better fan than people who pay less or only pay into MyFC. Anyone who loves the Fleet but half wants MyFc to go belly up in 3 weeks, has a very strange grip on reality & logic - in my opinion.

MyFC is the future of our club, £35.00 is a pretty small price to pay to have your say in what that future will be.

I paid a lump sum of money to the Fleet Trust at the start of the year, and this is my season's investment to the club (besides entry money). Even if all local Fleet fans sign up to MyFC this is not nearly enough. If/when not enough members renew, I'd rather see my money invested in the future of a club (to make sure that the club has a future). In short, I had a certain amount of money for investment, and I chose the Trust over MyFC for the long-term benefits.

"MyFC is the future of our club, £35.00 is a pretty small price to pay to have your say in what that future will be. " ( I don't understand how to quote when one has quoted this site)
But I basically disagree. How on earth does anyone know for sure it is the future of our club? As Bernard said, even if all the local supporters signed up, it wouldn't be enough. So I think it's down to the supporters to contribute in any way that they want. Contributing to the Fleet trust seems like a good idea to me if you're not wanting to sign up to MyFC...or simply turning up to lots of games. It all counts somehow. The trust will always be there (hopefully) whereas it is very very uncertain that MyFc will.
Nobody should be saying it is a worse alternative. Everything you get for your £35 on the website are things that people who attend the games don't need - as Brian said in an earlier post. Put your£35 anywhere you want.
Not to say we shouldn't be encouraging people to sign up - but targeting and criticising the homebase isn't always going to work.

No wonder people from America are suddenly joining...

MyFC has kept the club sustainable in the short term (at least). Remember if it hadn't been for MyFC, we would have been in real deep lumber, possibly Kent League.

I renewed sometime ago for a further two years and I would encourage others to do so. My boys and I go to most home games and it is true that you do not need to be a MYFC member to do that. Query whether Ebbsfleet would be around if MYFC wasn't. Well I guess it would be here in some shape or form, though my bet it would be a lesser form.
However I think MYFC is an exciting innovative venture and I am happy to lose a few £35s into it. I feel involved and do feel that the members are by and large a force for good. It won't be everyone's cup of tea and I can respect that. All in all, I treat it as a bit of fun and you can't get much fun for what is about the price of a curry nowadays.

I think a lot of other people here should respect it too. I don't think many of the local fanbase want MyFC to fail, but it doesn't mean they have to sign up, especially as per head they are giving much more to the club.
If it's good for you, then that's great.

I've already signed up for an additional two years, but if I could do it over I would donate the money to the trust. It is legitimate to ask about whose interests are served at MyFC. It doesn't follow that they are EUFC. This is a good website. The £250k that was given over to the MyFC site last year could have been used much differently, if it were given directly to the club.
Aside from that I think that season ticket holders and probably persons that spend up to X should automatically be part of MyFC. We could use your knowledge and enthusiasm. It should be up to you to accept the invitation.

Renewed till 2011.

That is a good point about season ticket holders joining MYFC. I think they should be invited for a nomimal registration fee of say £5. In my experience if people don't pay something for a service or whatever they don't appreciate it.
Frankly the more that the MYFC members and visiting fans coincide the better

I am waiting for a paypal account but will be joining soon...
But in advance i agree (twice) with rutters above!
Season ticket holders should be in!Posted 1 year ago # -
I finally found 35 quid down the back of the sofa this morning, so that's me in for another year!

So is there any update yet as to whether there will be enough renewals to keep the club going for another year?
Posted 1 year ago # -
I renewed sometime ago for a further two years
Renewed till 2011.
While I admire anyone with that much faith in the MyFC idea - surely it would be a better plan for the club for you to buy an extra membership for the coming year and donate it as a present to someone - that way the money would be made available THIS coming year, rather than ringfenced away for 1 - 2 years...

Definate pick up in the rate of renewal this week in response to emails from MyFC and the fact the Feb 19 date is getting nearer. In the week to last Friday midnight, about 125 renewed. In the time since then, over 250. Many more are needed, but also a steady 4 or 5 new members a day which doesnt sound many, but over a year is around 1,500.
Renew , Credit / Debit Cards, Paypal

3335 have renewed so far.

3335 have renewed so far.
Yes. And double that number will likely renew in the next couple of weeks. There are also currently 6000ish members who joined after February 19th last year who will still be with us (for a while at least). As they bought in after the club was known they are also more likely to renew when their time comes. We're definitely on target for the 12-15K that David estimates as a minimum annual steady-state membership. I'm not bullish about the 20K we've been aiming for anymore though. Would be great to be proven wrong
Posted 1 year ago # -
So we expect another 6k or so to renew in the next few weeks which will mean about 10k of the original 30k will renew ?
Shame its not more but it's better than I feared.Posted 1 year ago # -
I think the numbers are as follows: 4000 joined after Feb 19. Around 3400 have renewed or had already bought next year subscription. Total to date is 7400 members after Feb 18 if nobody else renews. 7 days to go.

Yes alter, those are the correct numbers (and a bit generous, because some of the new members might be multi-year signups as well).
Going at the current rate of about 100 per day, MyFC will have around 8,000 members on Feb 20th.
Oh, and to stay on topic, no, I won't be renewing.

Diff, I think we also have to allow for a last minute surge, I dont mean of massive proportions, but I cant see a sign up on the day of Feb 19th of just 100. ?
3,400 year 2 now, I think must have a chance to be over 6,000 by the 19th ?, who knows though, nobody does yet ? . Makes for around 10,000 ?
Maybe the 12,000 is a possibility, time will tell.

I agree Keith that there might be a pick up near Feb 19th. But your numbers are wrong for the current status!!
There are 3404 now signed up for more than 1 year, but this counts anyone who has ever renewed (since none of the memberships have expired). Everyone is counting this number twice, coming up with 6,800 renewals, which is wrong!
So then you need to add that number of new members since Feb 19th, 2008, and that's about 4,301 (using the numbers from Paul's list showing new members per month, which doesn't split Feb 08, so there is a little guesswork).
The the total now is around 3404+4301 = 7705. If no one renewed or signed up, this is how many members MyFC would have on Feb 20th. And it will actually be a little less because some of the new members signed up as multi-year members.

I just quoted the 4000 year 08/09 from a post above, which appears to be incorrect.
Your 4,301 figure for 08/09 is a bit high I think based on a post on MyFC.
3,400 Year 2 renewals, approx the same figure for 08 / 09 ( 3,400 ) = 6,800, throw your 100 a day in for a week ( 700 ) , = 7,500 add my optimistc late surge, and 10,000 is doable.
Anyway, each day that passes, we will get more idea.
No prize for getting it right

10k is very worrying if thats all it ends up being. I hope we have some plans of action in place.
Didn't the original message come out that 15k was needed.Posted 1 year ago # -
Statistics, more statistics and damn lies....... I still find it quite amusing that the stats page on the MyFC site shows there to be 26 members between the ages of 106 and 110!!! Any idea what creedence can be given to the renewal numbers?
