Our best moments were over in a blur tonight; their equalizer had been a long time coming by the time it finally arrived.
The experimental line-up was perhaps understandable given the more winnable games to come - so it was strange to see Darius (being rested, one would have thought) come on for Sole and a switch to a rarely seen flat back five at 2-2. Fifteen minutes later we were 4-2 down, and changed back to a 4-4-2, but by now any shred of attacking rhythm had evaporated (just one shot of any note from us in the whole second half, from Purcell).
Four defeats out of four now against Histon since their promotion.
Listening to the match last night, it would appear that the trio of Ibe, Youseff and Sole were giving their defence the runaround. When Sole was subbed (although 2-2 at the time) the whole thing fell apart big time. It allowed their defence to join in the attack without the threat of Sole linking with the other two, who was, apparently their nemesis when playing against Woking.
Would appear to be a tactical error from the bench. I just hated the chant of "We want six" from the Histon sups. One consolation is that it may affect Satans Bor charge into the playoffs.
