In an attempt to detract from the sombre atmosphere around here at the moment; does anyone have any thoughts on tonights game?

Can't see us getting anything out of it to be honest. A return for McCarthy, Moore, Duncan and Smith would be a bonus and obviously not picking up any more injuries would be nice.

Under the circumstances, with injuries and playing Sat, Tues,Thurs, Sat etc....( yes I know we played Monday this week !), I think a draw could be considered a very good result.

    Good luck all......

    Cheers,

A draw would be a great result. The boys are knackered. Let us pray that some of the fresher players get a start.

Our best moments were over in a blur tonight; their equalizer had been a long time coming by the time it finally arrived.

The experimental line-up was perhaps understandable given the more winnable games to come - so it was strange to see Darius (being rested, one would have thought) come on for Sole and a switch to a rarely seen flat back five at 2-2. Fifteen minutes later we were 4-2 down, and changed back to a 4-4-2, but by now any shred of attacking rhythm had evaporated (just one shot of any note from us in the whole second half, from Purcell).

Four defeats out of four now against Histon since their promotion.

Listening to the match last night, it would appear that the trio of Ibe, Youseff and Sole were giving their defence the runaround. When Sole was subbed (although 2-2 at the time) the whole thing fell apart big time. It allowed their defence to join in the attack without the threat of Sole linking with the other two, who was, apparently their nemesis when playing against Woking.
Would appear to be a tactical error from the bench. I just hated the chant of "We want six" from the Histon sups. One consolation is that it may affect Satans Bor charge into the playoffs.

It certainly was. I would go as far to say it was one of the best goals that has been scored against us this season.

The bloke was slipping a little when he went to hit it but this helped him get the angle.
He absolutely thumped it in. Lance had no chance unlike their third where him and Pooley both left it for each other. The Histon player (Wright?) simply said ta very much and taped it home.

It was Cronins' fault and Darius was not shy in letting him know it.

All down to the Goalkeeping Coach really. Needs to get a grip and sort out this hesitancy with Lance. He now makes me feel a little nervous with some of the showboating antics he gets up to. None-the-less a great goalkeeper at times. Please please Lance roll the ball out more often instead of booting it upfield, it only comes back to you in double quick time. You know it makes sense. We have the players who can distribute the ball more incisive than a boot upfield will achieve.
