Paul Crichton was right about York.

What a bunch of knob jockeys York are, all the crap they have been dishing in the papers and now they wish to remain anonymous.
£55k for Gash
Sell! Sell! Sell!Bit harsh that considering the club has done everything in its power to keep it OUT of the media. Yes it has been reported by various publications but if you actually read what has been said there are very few actual quotes from the club about it. IMO the club has been unusually tight lipped about the whole affair.
Yes it is obvious that it is York making the bid since very few clubs have this sort of money to buy a player these days.
I think you'll find any delay in this transaction has come much closer to home. The offer was made when the original deal callapsed and no further offer has been made since then. If your manager wants to sit on it and (IMO) wait and see if any further offers were forthcoming then that is his right. Don't blame York for underhand tactics though.
I understand that you love your club every bit as much as I love mine, and I also understand that much of what I say will probably fall on deaf ears as you'll believe whatever it takes to justify your clubs decision to delay the transfer, but anyone with a modicome (??!!?!) of an open mind would have to admit York have done nothing untoward. If you don't believe me go back through all the ACTUAL quotes from Martin Foyle or York city and see what he has actually said on the matter. You'll see that the manager and the club have been honest, very tightlipped and up front on the whole matter.

Wanna go halves on a couple of t-shirts bearing that legend for the York game, Jimmy?

I've already had one made up with "I was shown around here when I was actually on holiday in Mexico" for the away game.

A pity they weren't tight-fingered when entering signings and tours of the ground that never happened onto their website. Come on, this may be raking over ancient ground, but if you're going to defend your club's actions, you have to admit you're starting from a position some way down the ladder of righteousness.

find me a quote on the York website about this. Please. Don't mix up the YCFC.net (official) website with te recently tabloid like Yorkpress website. even we don't believe whats writen on there...
But you're right. This is old stomping ground. Book me in for one of them T's - I like the ironic humour in it...

How do you know it's York?
The crass and amateurish attempts to manipulate the media with 'tactics' that often as not backfire?
That was way to easy. Lighten up, the anti York postings are starting to get silly now. As said before Ebsfleet have done themselves no favours at times throughout this whole saga.

im not to bothered who he goes to, preferably not someone in our league tho as he is bound to score against us haha. i think we will miss hes services but i think that it is in the best interests of the club that he goes, especially with the re-arranged sell on clause to cambridge city, we could do with the extra wage budget funds, i mean we only have 16 days and 4 players if gash goes. this could help daish hugely.

I make it about 55 thousand favours Skippy.
On the plus side fella we are all hoping you don't go tits up before January now. Remember you will still have to pay the £25,000 even after you have seen him play.
Seriously he is a real grafter, if you can find a goalscorer to play alongside him they might both perform well. Best of luck to him.

The clue is our forum is still being posted on by York fans talking about Gash.
Doh!Posted 1 year ago # -
Yup Its York who have bid but thats no shock there. He's even told your Gaffer that he wants out!! Obviously want to come to a bigger BSP Club that needs to get back where it belongs.............................in the Football League!!

Can't wait to play you lot next season. Barrett is quality by the way. 3 goals in 2 pre-season games. Cheers

What a Positive comment Stuart!!
What has your accountant said "Club accountant Graeme Swift commented, "Financially, this looks like a sound move for Ebbsfleet United. It will increase our Net playing budget by £890 per week as well as free up the current wages of Micahel Gash. It will certainly give Liam Daish more options."
I may stalk sheep at night and race my pigeons but reckon I'd give you a run for your money on "Who wants to be a millionaire"!!

It's just the way some of us feel. This has been dragging on for so long now, everyone knows it's York making another bid yet they wish to remain "anonymous" despite various press reports confirming them. So why remain anonymous? Foyle actively keeps stating he wants a striker. Just get it over and done with so we can wish Gashy well for the future and get our team sorted.
Rant over

Thats my only regret here, I think we may have found just the striker to play alongside him and now he is going,
I don't think he has any better chance of getting into the football league with York than Ebbsfleet, Having said that every season comes up with a surprise package, Just Maybe our last minute mix will provide a few surprises in this league, Its not always the big spenders that succeed, Its blending a good team, And we have a manager well capable of thatPosted 1 year ago # -

(JOKING!!!!!)
Season after season the York supporters have seen very little in the way of support from the board. Disappointment after disappointment, year on year. After all, we took a 28 year old club captain and told him he could be a manager to cut costs, so I hope you can understand that this season things are looking different for us Yorkies. Very few of us think we will get promoted this season. We're just happy to see a change in direction and a bit of backing for our team from the board.
Seriously, I hope you do well this season and I look forward to meeting you all at the Kit Kat Crescent!! (I still love that name...)
Good luck and good night.

Thanks Speaks..... you've got to have optimism otherwise what are you supporting your team for...(could ask that of one or two of our Victor Meldrews mind...) - Good luck to you too - except against us of course - and enjoy your season at the Kwik Krap Stadium.

I can imagine how you feel but as a club if it wants to move forward you need the money. I think the majority of the fans will vote for him to go anyway because of your financial situation and the fact that he has shown the desire to move on.
I can't understand why the club have chosen to stay"anonymous" and that is a bit bizarre to be honest but Foyle can be a bit un-predictable at times. A lot of city fans are still not sure about him. Its gonna be a tough season as Luton still have their parachute payment and Oxford have been busy in the transfer market and their will be other teams there or there abouts. We are just happy that the manager is being supported financially and looking to progress back into the league if possible.
Cheers

Sorry to see him go, but best for him and best for the club, so I voted yes.
I wish him all the best. However I do think we can now put this behind us and look forward to the future with quite a lot more optimism. I think Liam has now got a workable budget to keep us in the BSP.

The York fans on here must have Phil as their teacher as this is pretty poor trolling.
The Crichton t-shirt idea is sublime.
Posted 1 year ago # -
It is going to be a big loss and we must now get in 2 or 3 decent strikers at short notice but im sure Liam can do it...
Posted 1 year ago # -
Disagree Richard. He is hardly Portway is he?
Good workrate admittedly but not enough goals for our main centre forward.

He is hardly Portway is he?
These pithy T-shirt slogans are coming thick and fast. I might start my own business.
