On a serious note, the MyFc shares should be sold back to the club for a nominal £1. The C shares should be cancelled, and the B shares converted back to plain old ordinary shares.
The club should then issue new shares at a sensible price (say 10p each in blocks of 500) to anyone who wants to invest (donate) money in the club. We can then be run as aproper company again with the shareholders electing the board to run the club without having to have a vote on every little thing.
We should aslo consider changing from a private comapny to a public company to make it easier for shareholders to buy and sell their holdings without having to get prior permission from the board.

Agree totally with that one David - I believe that should be the way to go if and when MyFC fails

When do I get a look in then ?

Judging from the uptake of the share issue over the ground purchase, I would imagine that such a new issue would be equally popular.
The club gets a broad spread of new shareholders and financial stabilty, short term at least, and it would again be in charge of it's own destiny.
Time will tell.Posted 5 months ago # -
The trick is to make the shares accessable to all. A minimum purchase of say 500 shares for £50 puts it within most peoples reach and gives everyone the possibility of putting in what they can afford.

Sounds way too sensible to me!

The ground purchase share issue would have raised over £250,000 at short notice.
I would imagine a club share issue would be as,if not more popular.Posted 5 months ago # -

The club has been in charge of it's own destiny for years, Gary! MyFC certainly hasn't had much sway over stuff that matters at SR, and judging from the financial results under the old directors I believe that was the case before our time as well.I agree that a share issue is probably the only available route come spring, but keep in mind the fact that nothing would really change other than the Fleet faithful now also having to pony up another £100 a year for shares to keep the creaky old crate (said with a lot of affection btw) afloat. That's on top of what they already pay for tickets and STs, shirts and burgers, beer and programmes. AND - that's assuming you can find 3-4,000 people to share the £300K/ year burden with, it'll be a lot more per person if not.

What about the rediculous vote on ticket pricing taken last year when we were in recession! That helped our gates a lot!

I don't recall the club fighting tooth and nail to keep the price at £13, do you? Generally speaking the member/ fans of MyFC vote very sensibly in accordance with the information they're given. I think we'd all acknowledge with the benefit of hindsight that it was the wrong move, but you can't blame the members for listening to the club and the board
Text from the club regarding the admissions vote April 9th 2009
... It is unlikely we will sustain the level of season ticket sales, due to our reduced profile and results and the drop in MyFC membership. We are all aware of the severe financial issues we face. Last year I was a proponent of freezing ticket prices and still believe that was the right thing to do at that time. With the substantial drop in available funds from MyFC, the challenges now are to increase gate revenue and improve cash flow, while trying not to alienate the fans and incurring reductions in attendance.
In our financial situation, we need to generate as much cash as possible. I believe our best option is to increase pay-on-the-day gate prices, then offer good discounts on the different season ticket prices to improve cash flow....
....Although it will be unpopular with fans, I am recommending an increase in the standard gate price to £15. This is a substantial enough increase to make fans think more seriously about buying one or other variation of the season tickets, helping our short-term cash flow. We need to consider a possible reduction in attendance if fans object so strongly to an increase that they boycott matches, or simply cannot afford the increase. If the gate reduced by 69 adults, we would be back to the same revenue as this season, so the message to fans explaining the need for this increase would need to be very clear. However, a £15 standard adult ticket price will definitely encourage advance purchases and still gives us the option of being flexible by reducing pricing for certain matches, should we want to.
... Our new Society Board Chairman Yorkfox has confirmed that the Society Board also strongly recommend to the members a price increase to £15.....
I just did a quick skim of the discussion back then and most of the locals who piped up also supported the increase on the basis that the club desperately needed the money. Collectively we believed that this would encourage STs (which proved correct), and not cause too big a drop in gates (which proved incorrect).

Pitty though. Hidsight is a great thing. Next years vote will be more interesting perhaps and I obviously underestimate the strength of reccomendation of the board and club.

Good post 190GKN. We have to be aware that to keep the club alive, challenging decisions will have to be made if as is likely MyFC renewals fall drastically further. I only hope that someone behind the scenes is working on a plan B. Obviously a number of us local supporters are MyFC members but we can't provide all the financial support for the benefit of non locals, although there are a number of really strong MyFC supporters who clearly are not locals. It would be a shame to lose them.
Indeed Stewart, For any restructuring to work we would need all the good, genuine myfc people from where ever they reside and who are still wanting to be involved on board, Myfc dressed differantly =
Real Shares in EUFC = True ownership in the club = True ownership responsibilities, The current board members and management staff of both EUFC and Myfc are doing a good job.....no need for change there and certainly not lose them.
Any restructuring will be the result of circumstances at myfc, Not by choice.Posted 5 months ago # -

Seems to be a fair share of locals here saying that £15 was lunacy:

If MYFC are going to chip in their 75% for £1 so should the other 25% shareholders.

If myfc end up having to do that the other 25% may as well do so too, Because if the club goes T*ts up they will own 25% of F all

http://www.eufcforum.com/forum/topic/200910-matchday-ticket-priceI for one certainly protested about the sheer stupidity of the £2 entrance increase. It was and still is, bloody ridculous in the financial environment the world finds itself, short-sighted and just downright greedy.
A number of people predicted the consequences of the increase on this very forum and were told to basically sod-off as their views were contrary to the views of the inteligencia of MyFC.
Hindsight be buggered it was so obvious what would happen it was untrue, but as usual the membership MyFC had their heads buried in the sand and would not listen to plain common sense.
Two words that do not seem to appear in the MyFC dictionary.

...........And now some Einstein wants to drop the admission to 7 quid! That means you have to more than double the gate just to make the same amount of money! That really is the way to make money for the Club............NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!+

That Einstein is now in a mood as someone allegedlly 'from the club' phoned up Barnsley checking him out.

Again and hopefully for the last time, i am not defending this approach BUT - you dont have to double the gate as you put in bold... its an increase of paying customers of some 150-200... not unachievable for other clubs - just unachievable for ourselves probably...

Apparently not as half the people who go are season ticket holders so you only have to get in double the amount of people who are paying to get in now (suckers) so about an extra 250 or so apparently??
If you get those extras, the only people losing out are the season ticket holders, but sod them anyway

You have to double the paying gate, as somebody else said..........sod the season ticket holders!

Judging on times past, I don't think gates have altered that much since the days of the faithful 400/200, of which I was one.QUOTE:MyFC certainly hasn't had much sway over stuff that matters at SR,
