Fans of Stirling Albion have launched a campaign to buy the football club.
If successful, the move would see the Second Division side become the first club to have 100% supporter ownership.
Current chairman and majority shareholder Peter McKenzie announced his intention to step down and sell his stake in the club last year.
However, BuyStirlingAlbion said a lack of serious bids had left the club, which was formed in 1945, at risk of going out of business.
Fans are each being urged to buy a £40 stake in the Stirling Albion Supporters Trust, which hopes to use the money raised to become the club's sole shareholder.
The campaign is targeting up to 20,000 supporters worldwide, generating a potential £800,000.
A specific amount required to buy the club is yet to be agreed.
'Serious danger'
Paul Goodwin from the organisation said: "Fans' trusts already have ownership in clubs across the UK and in four cases have majority stakes, but this innovative and ambitious campaign aims to make Stirling Albion FC the UK's first ever 100% fans' trust-owned club.
"However, we have to be very clear that if this campaign doesn't come off there is a serious danger that the club may cease to exist as a league club which is why it's so important that it succeeds."
BuyStirlingAblion said if the scheme was successful fans would have direct input into the running of the club, including choosing team kits and who becomes the club president.
The group is also keen to return the team to a full-time side.
Fans of the club are invited to a special meeting to discuss the campaign at the King Robert Hotel in Bannockburn tonight from 1900 BST.
