Yeah, that was an interesting piece. Note that his main argument was that fans can't afford to pay what the players cost. Basically just another variation of the business-as-usual theme of football mismanagement. The game is overpriced and mismanaged from the Premier down, and it is only a matter of time before it runs out of mugs willing to waste the family fortune on a club.
I think the Barca model is a bit of a stretch for us - although if we had 3,000 "socios" willing to pitch £100 a year for ownership then that would be enough. Maybe something more like the Bundesliga model could work with a strong man (or woman) or two as 49% shareholders but fans as majority shareholders? We'd only need 1,500ish then
