with the sending off that should put them on the backfoot.

sort it out shakes, we can't afford misses like that
Posted 1 year ago # -
Shakes doesnt seem to have been at his best again this year and has just wasted a great chance by the sounds of it.
Posted 1 year ago # -
AND THATS WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted 1 year ago # -
Damn - how important will those misses from the penalty spot and by Shakes be now?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Give Jamie Forshaw a go, his speed should bring us something.

PLease inform the co commmentator that we dont care about fair, we desperately need 3 points
Posted 1 year ago # -
As long as we don't go back to playing like saturday and losing the game in the dying minutes
Posted 1 year ago # -
Pop to the toilet and miss an equalizer
We need to win, plus the fact that won't improve our -9 goal difference
Posted 1 year ago # -
oh hell, keep it out.......
Posted 1 year ago # -
Looks like another point..... disappointing as we just cannot seem to keep a clean sheet. However 6 minutes extra may change it either way

Simon Thomas making up for the penalty
Sounds like the bit of luck we needed
Posted 1 year ago # -
3 points will do for me
This bit of confidence is just what we needed. Hopefully onwards and upwards from here
Posted 1 year ago # -
Well done boys - much needed - sounded like a real solid performance as well - why couldnt we have played like that on Saturday?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Win only moves us up one place though due to our goal difference, still in bottom 4

Halleujah! Bet the Eastbourne fans are livid! C'est la vie!

Okay missed first half penalty, But we got our first break of the season and first win today, Something to build on, Forest Green Rovers got their first point of the season at, of all places Oxford today, So our lads can go into next saturdays game with confidence, Todays Conference premier results show just how topsy turvy this league can be, Everyone is capable of beating everyone else on their day. Just got back from sunny Eastbourne I feel so happy after that win and the way it was won! We know how it feels to concide late goals so when Simon Thomas hit that ball in the back of the net best celebrations in ages all i remember is scott shulton running over and cuddling me and everyone jumping on top of Simon

Whilst it is still way to early to say that we have turned the corner, it is at least encouraging that the team pulled their socks up, rolled their sleeves up, didn't feel sorry for themselves and got stuck in.
We need to continue with this endeavour against what will be a tough Oxford side. I know they dropped a point today, they will be trying to make up for that on Saturday, so we will need to be at our best.BTW Mike, how did Pooley play in defence. He was slaughtered by the fans after Saturday, if he did ok today, that shows am immense amount of character. Fair play to the lad.

Just got back and am extatic with the win, spoke to the players and Liam after the match and they said how happy they where...it was evident when the 2nd goal went in with our own player collapsing to the ground! We looked very strong today and had a presence about us and certainly looked like we belonged in this league...Play like we did the 2nd half and I think we could nick a draw from Oxford and Win against R&D. Team seem to be gelling now and am glad that we played more football along the floor than in the air today....Pooley was SUPERB, and So was Heeroo...has to be between those for MOM. UP THE FLEET

I'm really pleased for both Pooley and Heeroo. Neither had great games the other day, and it takes real strength of character to come out and play well next game.
I'm chuffed for Liam and the boys, as I said, it is only a start.... but we had to get a win sometime.Posted 1 year ago # -
Pooley did play very well i hope he has turned the corner, as for Gavin he was Captain fleetastic today hes becoming my favourite player and in a small way reminds me of steve mckimm the way he plays.

got to agree i thought pooley had a great game the tackling by the midfield was a joy to see and we could and should have scored at least another goal, besides the penalty.the way the team celebrated the winning goal showed what it meant.glad i was there today.brilliant.hope allstars got some good pics

Next time you are cuddling Shulton you might try whispering in his ear how corners are meant to work. We looked more likely to concede a goal than score one from todays abyssmal corners...one of his efforts nearly hit the half way line ffs!
