Whilst the Conference Premier is without doubt getting more and more difficult to compete in, especially with the many ex-league clubs who regularly attract attendance over 3-4,000 or even more. Stevenage winning the league really shows that 'small-town' clubs can not only thrive but also beat the ex-league clubs and gain promotion into the Football League.
Stevenage aren't the first and they will no doubt not be the last. Morecambe, Burton Albion and Dagenham & Redbridge have all recently been promoted into the league, all with attendances not much bigger than ours, and have survived the rigours and challenges of playing in the Football League. Many congratulations to each of them.
It does go to show though, that you don't need to be a 'big' club to succeed in this league, but equally it does go to show that to be successful a club needs revenue streams other than that received from match attendances and to be run well.
