No surprise really. Surely it's only a matter of time before this affects the BSP too!

When does the BSP agreement run out?
The financial mess the Setanta re in could well lead to them not even bothering to renew...

Hope we arent banking on setanta cashI'm not sure of the exact amount, but it IS pretty substantial. It is going to be a very difficult year for many non league clubs and this is certainly not going to help matters.

This is all the proof we needed that slashing our budget to keep us out of debt was the correct choice. Those clubs overspending (or planning to) may have to reconsider if this source of income dissappears.

I was under the impression that it had not been factored into the budget.

It would be prudent not to expect this money on time at the minimum. In Scotland , the league have underwritten the payments but a couple of clubs have stated that they cannot wait fro the money.
I hope the league have the ability to underwrite it , they will probably move payment to a Thursday though.

This suggests it is £85000 per club. Not sure how accurate this is though. In addition, there would be the cash for any live games shown.

On the plus side, every club in the division would be financially affected, not just us, thus levelling things out. In fact, as a side not shown as often as the Oxfords and Cambridges, our hit would be less than that of many.
Furthermore, it's hopefully a sign that the ridiculous situation of dozens of games per season being screened on TV from arguably the worst predominantly fully professional league in the world, to the benefit of a few and the detriment of around as many who actually go to games and have their travel plans etc mucked around with (as hard as Setanta may find it to believe, there is still the occasional football fan out there who actually likes to attend matches in person), is nearing an end.

Though on that basis, I would say an £85k hit to us would be far more damaging given our fewer sources of income than, say, a £120k hit to Oxford or Cambridge. It would take us eight games (as a very rough estimate) to earn the equivalent back through the gate for instance whereas Oxford would earn the same in half that time.

True. And I think it's £85K plus a bit for the televised matches. No need to panic on this one, but there is grounds for concern.Though on that basis, I would say an £85k hit to us would be far more damaging given our fewer sources of income than, say, a £120k hit to Oxford or Cambridge. On the other hand, if the conference can't underwrite it and release the rights - we could probably raise a fair amount from live streaming the matches to MyFC members who live too far away to get to many games.
