What a stunning goal... you could see how much it meant to the lads by their celebrations! What a great move afterwards, the one with the dummy... what a goal that would have been! Think we should give Ibe and Purcell (even though he didnt play tonight) more opportunities myself... both do very well when given the chance... very entertaining game... superb drilled shot from Ibe which would have sealed the deal... gotta saya huge thanks to Leon Crooks for his contribution, what a good defender, Charles and Crooks were superb together,,, cant believe he played 21times since january! Bet he didnt expect to get that much football on loan! Cummon you reds... what a great end to the season of we could finish in the top half and got to both cup semi finals! Certainly would be a failed season... not forgetting the massive congestion of fixtures too... also very well played Lance Cronin, also nice to see some throws out by him too,

i was pleasently suprised tonight, although thr first half wasnt great, we actualy played better once we scored, and not worse for once, and it worked, not only was it more entertaining, but we didnt concde a late goal either due to defending all the time, maybe this happened because we are now safe and have nothing to lose.

Deano, why are your players on facebook after losing 1-0, wondering if there is 'any news on a day off' .

Where did that goal come from ?

His 112th appearance for the Fleet (96 starts and 16 as sub according to the official site) and his first ever goal for us is a corker like that!

A moderate first half - just the type of game you'd expect from 2 teams with nothing much to play for,but Wrexham came out strong early in the second half & Ricko's goal was certainly against the run of play. After that, it turned into a decent game where both teams could have scored further goals.

The win keeps our unbeaten league record at home for 2009 intact as well - 6 wins and 3 draws since that defeat by Grays on Boxing Day. An excellent stat particularly in view of the fixture pile up and the need to play 3 games a week in the last 5/6 weeks of the season.

Equally decent is the fact that we've taken 19 points from our last 10 league games - if we had maintained that over a whole season, we'd be close to automatic promotion & certainly in the play offs - I know its a big IF and we did have several games against sides in the bottom half in that period, but again with the injury situation during that time & the number of fixtures played in ashort space of time, another impressive effort.

We could still finish 11th if we win both our remaining games and Rushden & Eastbourne fail to win their last games and overall I'd be happy with that, in conjunction with the Trophy Semi Final & Setanta Shield Semi Final.

The team that played tonight was very good and worked well together tonight. There was a brief time in the second half where i got a bit worried but nope my faith in the fleet was returned just a few minutes later with Ricko's spectacular shoot that finished in the top corner! Very well done to the lads today and hope to see them get another win on Thursday!
