Boris is spot on. I saw the event as a great opportunity for squad players and youngsters to get some match experience. And that they did. Our former players all looked sharp and I was reminded just how good a player Jay was. Their young centre forward looked talented. Wasn't their experienced left back the reason that we remained in the Trophy the other year?

If it did nothing else it showed that the first team selection is generally spot on. All those clamouring for Forshaw to start would have seen why he isnt. He has the talenta and he seems to have positional sense but is far too lightweight and was eased off the ball every time it came close. One for the future for sure, but not yet.

The youngster, Sherlock looked about 10 years old but packed a tackle and Springett deserves a mention although his lack of experience was shown on occasion

I have to be honest and say I actually quite enjoyed it! Its about time some of the moaners on here got a life!

Can you imagine the outcry if Liam had played the full 1st team and 3 or 4 picked up niggling injuries which meant they would have missed the Luton game, or even got sent off only to serve a 3 match ban, he was "damned if you and and damned if you don't", I think the criticism would have been far greater than it was after the game, also he did say in an interview that he intended to have a look at the fringe players, this he did so fans must have had an idea of the team before they went.

Also I understand the fan's points about the admission price but you should know it wasn't totally a club decision, admission prices have to be agreed between the clubs and the KCFA, I think going much lower than we did might not have got agreed, the rule actually states that we should have charged our normal admission price of £15, so to reduce by almost half might have proved difficult to ratify, I know for a fact if the fixture had been reversed the admission price would have been £10, I hope this helps a bit in way of an explanantion.

Given the gloom and doom of the early season (remember how many people wanted Liam's head on a platter?), at least we can fight for retention at this time instead of having relegation a foregone conclusion.

I don't want his head on a platter. I just want him to do the honorable thing and walk.

The ludicrous concept returns. We're looking like we've a half-decent chance of staying up now, whereas around a couple of months ago we seemed to have very little. Probably not the best time for the apple cart to be upset, and all that.

Your posts occasionally confuse. Most of them are perfectly logical, but every now and again there's one that's anything but - possibly a more alarming scenario than one who posts wall-to-wall gibberish.

People must know what to expect from KSC matches by now. If you don't like them, don't go.

why does everyone seem to be getting out of their prams after last nights result. It's the KSC not the BSP. i was at the game last night and yeah in truth it wasn't the best, but if some of these players we're to play more either in closed doors friendlys or out on loan then it would be highly beneficial to them.
Matt Lamprell (who could have done better for the first goal) last night hadn't played a senior competitive game for the fleet untill last night don't forget he is still a PASE lad playing on Wednesdays still. Collins who i thought played very well and was glad to see him back in fleet colours hadn't played since September, Springett fair enough was fault for the third, has been on loan for months and he coped well enough at the back with Leon Crooks. Chris Henry had a little spell in the side but since hasn't played a single minute so sharpness wouldn't have been there (nice finish though) & was good to see Aidan Sherlock come on and do well looks commited, & fellow PASE Lads Tom Phipp and Joe Hagan in the squad (credit to coaches again bringing through youngsters).
Im not fearing the worst after last nights result as much as i don't like losing to one of our local rivals so to speak Maidstone, our main priority is the BSP this season!

It was cold and not a very good game, but I still found it interesting and was happy to part with my £10.

I think Liam will have found it useful to see how some of the fringe players performed. No one on our side really stood out though and I doubt if any of them have forced their way into the team for the next match.

On paper the team looked quite strong with a fair number of them having played for the 'first' team.

Jamie Forshaw showed good mobility but still a bit lightweight. Another year of building himself up and he will be strong enough.

The keeper Lamprell seemed nervous so hopefully he will have benefitted from the experience.

Welsh showed some great skill early on and then disappeared. Frustrating really.

Jordan Collins played all 90 minutes so it looks like his fitness is there or there abouts.

It is a shame that we didn't get through as there could have been some interesting gamers against Bromlery, Welling and others.
Never mind we can concentrate on the league

I won't comment on last night as I wasn't there and Bernard's forum law forbids it.
But it worth noting that a fair number of this team also failed against Bromley not that long ago.
Everyone can draw their own conclusions.
Mine are, with the exception of the regular first team and bench, Liam could save some money.

Why would you comment on last night when you weren't there though? I can't think of what you could say...

Anyway with regards to Bromley that was a much bigger gig for us and it would have been useful to win that match, the same can't be said for the KSC. I wouldn't expect players to get too stuck in really. I was saying last night if say Leon got a bad injury during a KSC match - I'd never forgive the competition!

Clearly Liam shouldn't be sacked for last night's result.
Obviously the league is far more important, but IMO the club made a big mistake in agreeing to go with the £10 , in the knowledge that the team we put out was as close to a reserve side as we could get.
Had folks paid £6, they would be on here say , we knew we had a weak side - but every penny helps.
What we are getting is 'value for money' comments, which is understandable.

It was pretty painfull to watch last night, but there were a couple of positives. Collins played the full 90 minutes and looked decent. I think young Aiden Sherlock deserves a mention as well, he looks a decent prospect.
