Unfortunately tho, you are right...
For all that has been done to attract the local population - the apathy towards the club wins every time.

I'm not so sure, the pay what you think could attract a large group who think it would be amusing to get in for 1p.

Provided that they bought a drink or two once they were in then we would be on to a winner.

If you try it for say, the Chester game, when there won't be a large away following then there is no reason to think we would need a large police presence either.

We could only get c4,000 though, Patman, when we did the completely free entry to the Trophy game - I'd lay odds we wouldnt get more than 3,000 at best on a Pay what you want basis. And as has been said previously, theres all the extra costs linked into this - in particular Policing, so it probably would be a great earner on the day, even if receipts overall were up.
And, again, as we've said previously, 99% of those turning up for such a game wont come back more than the odd occasion, so we wouldnt benefit particularly in the long term either.
A bit negative, I know, but potentially realistic as well.

I liked this bit
'On Saturday Mansfield Town fans will be able to pay whatever they want to see their home game against Gateshead'
No doubt some of our supporters would ask for some money back instead

Worthwhile trying? Plenty of free publicity for doing it!!
"Mansfield Town's decision to allow fans to pay what they liked to watch their team saw the average home attendance more than double on Saturday.
Kick-off against Gateshead was delayed by 10 minutes as more than 7,000 supporters took up the club's offer.
With fans paying as little as three pence and as much as £50 on the day - usual ticket prices are £16 - expected gate receipts to be up."

I may join MYFC to propose a vote for the over 50's to get a discount, especially those of us that are not in employment but, nevertheless, scrape together enough money to buy a season ticket each year, even if it means going without little luxuries like food and air for three weeks...and having to lick road clean wit' tongue for sixpence every four years.....and suck on a piece of damp cloth as we can't afford a cup of tea ( without milk or sugar.....or tea !!)

I agree with gaspode. Its particularly diificult to pay full price for a season ticket for you son when he is full time at college/or Uni. They are easily verified as a student by their student Card.

As far as Season Ticket prices are concerned, I have brought this up before but there should be a tier between the Junior Fleet and Adult prices.
I bring my son to the games, he is a Junior Fleet member, but will be 16 before the start of next season. However, he will still be at school and therefore wholly dependant on me for his money.
Whilst I do not expect the Junior Fleet level of pricing as he is no longer a 'Junior', I feel that it will be difficult for me to stump up for two full adult season tickets in order for us both to attend. If there were a tier of pricing between the two, say around £100 instead of the £230, for 16 - 18 year olds then it would make it easier on my pocket.
Not too sure what anybody else feels, just thought that i would mention it again
I will be bringing it up on MYFC in the near future to see how it flies over there

As far as I know, those in full time education fit under the "concessions" category. Whether this includes Uni students or not I do not know, but this applied for me when I was 17 and 18 and attending college.
